• 20 years of experience as an English teacher at the high school level, seven of which as an Advanced Placement English teacher.
• Initiated formal schooling at Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School in Brooklyn, New York. From fifth grade until 12th grade attended public schools in Puerto Rico. Graduated from a model school under a year-round school calendar curriculum that marked my future investigations at the graduate level.
• Attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, specializing in Public Communication at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. Upon graduation, I worked at a radio station as a reporter, journalistic program conductor, broadcasting and writing publicity content.
• I later returned to the University of Puerto Rico Arecibo and American University to obtain a certification to teach secondary level English.
• Obtained a Master’s Degree in English Curriculum from Caribbean University, Vega Baja Campus in Puerto Rico.
• I have worked under contract as an English professor at Abbvie Pharmaceuticals (formerly known as Abbott Laboratories), in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico and at American University in puerto Rico.
• I dictate reviews to students set to take the College Board Examination for admittance to universities with the Interamerican University, Arecibo Campus, Puerto Rico.
• I mentor future secondary level English teachers for Interamerican University, Arecibo Campus.
• I collaborate as a test item writer for the tests prepared and administered by the College Board
• I review and edit test content for Learn Aid standardized tests administered at private schools in Puerto Rico.
• Attained Ph.D. in Education: Philosophy and Curriculum at Caribbean University, Bayamón Campus, Puerto Rico.
• I am currently an English teacher with the Department of Education of Puerto Rico and live in Manatí, Puerto Rico.
